Digital Rights Management: Technologies and Choices.The Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies and choices available to an individual or company depend solely on what type of media you produce. For example, a software product may come with a unique registration code which the buyer must input to be able to use the product. Once the code is used on a machine, it cannot be used again on another. Two other forms include a watermark, that IDs a buyer at the time of purchase and if that unique mark shows up on file sharing sites the buyer could be found and held accountable, and restricting the duplication of CDs, DVDs, or MP3s. |
