The limits and liabilities of Digital Rights Management (DRM) include:
As of now, DRM is available to mostly those in the music and music
industry or major corporations who produce other original digital
information formats that they do not want freely distributed.
Many of the DRM systems are flawed in some way. There are those that
are an inconvenience to those who utilize them and others that only
restrict certain behaviors, such as CSS which restricts country to
country DVD sharing.
Some forms, such as product activation, may require a consumer to
purchase the same program several times to play on each of their different
PCs and laptops. In a world where a typical household owns two or more of
these devices, this may aggravate many consumers.
